Dear Philly,
I love your mixture of high rises and nature parks to walk.
I wish you didn’t have streets that cry the sound of blood shed and anguish.
I hope the sound changes to harmony of love, celebration, unity, and life.
Dear blocks that I journeyed as I grew up,
I am disappointed when I see what could be, not be.
In my dreams, you are generational wealth, love, prosperity, life
giving not life taking.
I love how despite the pain of adversity, one learns perseverance.
Dear brotherly love,
I love that there are times when we are unified soaring
wings of EAGLES.
I wish you didn’t hold the blood of my brother or the others I’ve
seen or didn’t, but instead their life.
I hope you elevate, that redemption finds you
and you embrace it.
I will pray for you
and give back to
you the blessings God gave me.
