Poems about gun violence written by Germantown residents were transformed into public art that was temporarily displayed throughout Germantown from April 11, 2026 through June 6, 2026. A kick-off celebration at Friends Free Library launched the public artworks followed by walking tours throughout May 2026. This walking trail of public art was inspired by 19 poems created during community poetry workshops, chosen by the lead artists/curators to be rendered into both intimate and grand works of public art. The public art poems were installed in locations throughout Germantown marked by gun violence or that held meaning to the poet. You can browse a map documenting the temporary exhibit below.
