The Bilges (Bottom of the Ship)
I remember my first ships’ bilges were Terra Cotta
Let it be a reminder to me of simpler times. You were proud of me
Because we need to know that though I wasn’t there, you were always in my heart
You were the anchor of the family
We were father and son
I will never forget who you are to me
It will always make me a better man
Remember this, I am my Grandfather’s son
We will through memory, make you proud
The streets, I now protect them
I hold onto who we were, who we are, and who I want to be today.
